Itinerary for Pyrenees, 22nd to 29th June 2019.
During this trip we should see some very interesting Bird species but on this tour Butterflies, Orchids, Alpine Wild Flowers and the Views will be an equally important part of the experience.
Some of the possible bird species for the trip: Lammergeier, Egyptian and Griffon Vultures, Stone Curlew, Little Bustard, Pin-tailed and Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Scops and Eagle Owl, Red-necked and Common Nightjar, Black, Middle Spotted, White-backed and Iberian Green Woodpeckers, Water Pipit, Dupont's Lark**, Lesser Short-toed Lark, Dipper, Alpine Accentor, Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush, Blue Rock Thrush, Ring Ouzel, Marsh Tit, Wallcreeper, Alpine and Red-billed Choughs, Citril Finch and Ortolan Bunting.
**Not the best time of the year for this species but it is a resident species and will be there** and we had great views in 2015.
I would expect the bird list to reach around 130 by the end of the trip. Butterflies will also feature highly during this trip and the list should be over 70 species. We will also see some interesting Dragonflies during the week. Mammals may include Chamois, Alpine Marmots, Red Squirrel, Wild Boar and Others. Lots of Wild Flowers and Orchids should also be in flower including some very interesting alpine species. |
